We did it! We got married...
The Wedding
We had a fabulous day. From start to finish we don't feel it could not have gone any better. Eleanor decided to keep us all waiting and was 20 minutes late to the church. There was an excuse about being stuck behind a recycling lorry - hmmm! The service was beautiful (thanks in part to Rev. Philip) and we had some lovely contributions from friends and family. We both knew Wick Farm was the right place for our reception the moment we first saw it - and it didn't let us down. Beautiful setting, great food and drink and we feel our choice of music and musicians worked out rather well - Ben at the church, Sam the piper, Will the guitarist, The Jiggerty Ceilidh band and some R&B / Soul to finish off the night. Enjoy the pictures and see if you can spot yourself:
The Honeymoon
We both love Italy, so we were pretty sure we'd have a good time - a few days in Rome then relaxing down on the Amalfi Coast. And it's fair to say we had the time of our lives! Too many things to sum up here, however some of our Rome highlights were The Colosseum and Forum, The Trevi Fountain by night, dinner in Piazza Navona (and boogying to The Streetles) and posh cocktails at the Boscola Exedra Hotel in Piazza Repubblica. Leaving Rome we took the Eurostar down to Naples then the Circumvesuviana train to Sorrento, followed by the SITA bus along the coast road to Positano. Quite a journey! However it was worth it!! Positano is just breathtaking. Our hotel terrace provided panoramic views of both the mountains and the sea, and a friendly lady brought us breakfast (with a happy "bonjourno") every morning to our private terrace. We swam in the sea, explored the town, visited Pompeii, Capri, Sorrento, Ravello and Amalfi. We went on an amazing boat trip along the coast swimming in caves and under freshwater waterfalls. We had lots of gelatto (ice cream), limone granitta (made locally from from Amalfi lemons), ate the most amazing food, drank plenty of local red wine as well as Prosecco, cocktails, Limoncello and coffee! We didn't want to come home. Hopefully the photos give a bit of an insight:
Thank You
Our wedding day was so special, mainly because all our favourite people came to celebrate with us. So we want to say "thank you"! We hope you had an amazing time, like we did. You were so generous with your wedding gifts, many of you contributing to our honeymoon. This enabled us to have the most fantastic time and do the most amazing things! We are so appreciative and grateful for all the gifts we received and we want to say a massive "thank you" to you all.
